Did we also mentioned that we saw a few adorable baby cuttlefishes, clown fishes, groups of small silver fishes etc.. during our free dive at the Bintan Kelong? Well done to Mr Hassan, we are awed by your passion, determination and perserverance to stay put and carry on your dive operations at Bintan, solo with a couple of few dive staff.
Really isn't easy to strike out a dive center, stay put and being committed to the dive business for so many years. Kudos!
Mr Hassan. from the Sea Adventures Dive Center @ Bintan, beside Bintan Spa Villa Report, he is actively seeking to train and groom a dive master, or more divers to help assist to run his dive center, as sometimes during peak season, he needs extra manpower. So if ya is keen to work in a dive center in Bintan, please look for Mr Hassan. His Sea Adventures Dive Center has been operating there for many years already...
This time, Kevin and i did a free dive into the waters surrounding the kelong, after taking off our life jacket, just for show and photo taking, to check out the coral planting activities, for conservational purposes. Here we are, to help see what we can do for the diving community around Bintan, Indonesia. :)
We have scuba dived at numerous dive sites all over the world, travelled widely, did a few couple of deep dives for cave diving or wreck diving, of coz not as deep in depth level, as plenty of Technical Professional Divers do, but we gained a lot of life experiences and knowledge from there. Our last previous free dive at a Kelong was at Batam, many years ago...
Its not about the glam, fame, power, or anything. Its about your love for your hobby, how you can do within your capacity to help others, promote Eco, Marine, Wildlife Conservation etc....
Planting corals on coral beds, doing conservation for sea turtles by asking owners to release them back into oceans/seas without charging public, sharing awareness etc...
Something important to highlight here to everyone ~ Humans can be quite superficial creatures sometimes, we always tend to look at the glamorous side of things, but we often forget that every new dive site is like every new start up company, requires a lot of manpower expertise, time, energy, effort to get everything up and running in place, so that the public/ staff can enjoy the fruits of their labour.
Same goes to Bintan Kelong Dive, dive center run by Mr Hassan. We are definitely proud of him, because its not easy to stay put in one place, to run a dive center on his own with a few other dive guides, and then manage the kelong dive operations, as well as out to sea operations.
Every new dive site is like a new Startup business, its the manpower operations, to be able to run every dive site well to the maximum capacity, so that these dive site/s can showcase beautiful corals, wrecks and marine life...
