Halong Bay Vietnam - 19th May 2019

Buddhism in Vietnam (Đạo Phật or Phật Giáo in Vietnamese), as practised by the ethnic Vietnamese, is mainly of the Mahayana tradition. Buddhism may have first come to Vietnam as early as the 3rd or 2nd century BCE from the Indian subcontinent or from China in the 1st or 2nd century CE.

Today is Vesak Day, release the ducks if need be, but do not release any animals, fishes or tortoises into the ponds, lakes or seas in Sg or anywhere of the World even, because they might not be able to adapt to the wild or the difference in the water body quality conditions.

Being Vesak Day is not the day where you think by releasing these animals into the wild or water bodies means you are doing a good deed. No! In the first place, should not even keep any animals, fishes or tortoises which you think should not be kept captivity!!! ;)
