One of East Timor's most fascinating shore dives
To my right grows a living wall of mouths - millions of individual polyps and planktivorous fish of all sizes, shapes and colours. To my left an expanse of blue supports fast moving herds of sleek fish. Pastel soft corals - the size of pygmy redwood trees - stand erect, catching passing plankton while fishes of a thousand varieties zoom in and out of myriad corals. I don't know where to point my camera. It all looks imaginary and i'm afraid images would'nt convey the surreal feeling of being here. This one of East Timor's most fascinating shore dives and 90 minutes just isn't enough. From the tiniest pygmy seahorses to the largest fish - whale sharks - Lone Tree, a.k.a Whale Shark Point, has everything I look for in a tropical underwater dreamland.
(Ok enough with the stories, I'm itchin' for a dive)
