Grey nurse sharks that visit the area makes this place a favourite among divers.
At 20m your heart begins to race as more than 20 large grey nurse sharks come into view. Large grouper, snapper, jacks, hawkfish, rays, leopard sharks, and turtles also live here, but it's hard not to focus on the grey nurses, some nearly four metres long. Gradually, your initial inhibitions diminish. From a metre away the teeth look menacing but the sharks don't. They hover in the gentle current or move slowly around above the sand gutters in a circular pattern. It's an amazing sight, looking back at the shark silhouttes against the blue water, before ascending to the batfish at the safety stop.
(Ok enough with the stories, I'm itchin' for a dive)
