The "Critter Capital of the Caribbean."
St. Vincent bills itself as the "Critter Capital of the Caribbean." The longlure frogfish is one of the oddest critters, waddling about and eschewing swimming like a normal fish. It sports a built-in rod and lure, making it a fish that fishes for other fish. Since these multi-hued, potato-shaped lumps are so expert at camouflage, finding the occasional animal is normally an exercise in futility. At this site, however, divers can encounter more than six different individuals in various colour schemes including yellow, pink, black, and mottled. With a population density like that, froggie sightings reward even the most myopic diver. This becomes a great place to watch the frogfish dangle its lure, teasing dinner into range and vacuuming it down a cavernous maw that snaps open and shut in the blink of an eye.
(Ok enough with the stories, I'm itchin' for a dive)
