A dive site teeming with life.
"Are we really going to dive in this milk-coloured water?" I hear Stephen asking Alex Ho, our dear friend and guide. We're in the middle of the boating channel between Semporna and Mabul, and I'm sceptical. We back roll into this four0metre deep sandy area anyway to find...absolutely no coral. I have to readjust my focus on the muck, when suddenly every hole and pit seems to have life. Despite losing each other a few times due to poor visibility, we're rewarded with interesting sightings like gobies, seahorses, and octopuses - the usual macro suspects. I later discover YKK means "Yoshi, Kuiter, Kozawa" - three macro gurus who specialise in gobies, and who have returned to YKK many times.
