One of the finest examples of green water wreck diving in bonny Scotland.
Cold, green water and drysuits? Is this really one of the last sites I'd dive? Divers prepared to put up with the "less than tropical" conditions (water temperature is a refreshing 4-15°C!) will find one of the finest examples of green water wreck diving in bonny Scotland. The Hispania was a Swedish steamer, which sank in 1954 after running aground in atrocious weather. Today she lies as a beautiful shrine to her captain (who went down with his ship), almost upright and virtually intact in 20 to 30m. She is absolutely covered in bright orange and white anemones, and rich marine life abounds. The gangways and handrails remain intact and the cavernous cargo holds are an oasis for exploration.
(Ok enough with the stories, I'm itchin' for a dive)
