The Red Sea's most famous dive spot.
Without doubt the Red Sea's most famous dive spot, Ras Mohammed actually comprises over 10 sites in one; the two you need to know are Shark Reef and Yolanda Reef. Rising vertically from depths exceeding 800m, the sheer walls of Shark Reef are simply awe-inspuring, but cast your eye into the blue where the waters pulse with huge schools of snaper and barracuda, and black tip sharks keeping a wary eye. As you peel away toward Yolonda Reef you cross stunning gardens of soft corals before reaching the remains of the ship that gave the site its name. The majority of the wreck slipped over the wall many years ago, but its cargo of toilets makes a rather unique home for Napoleon wrasse, stingrays, and turtles.
(Ok enough with the stories, I'm itchin' for a dive)
