Encounter some of the most impressive natural shark diving underwater.
Arrival at this remote atoll in French Polynesia, a UNESCO "Man and Biosphere" site, provides you with picture-postcard views at the surface and some of the most impressive natural shark diving underwater. Schools of grey reef sharks are bisected by silvertips in the blue when you first drop in, then whoosh! the current begins to pull you into the channel. You fly by huge dogtooth tuna darting into immense schools of snapper on the edge of the reef (30m) before a pulsating journey through the surge channels (12m), feeling much like a rebel X-wing attacking the Death Star in Star Wars. Toward the end of the experience you duck down into a depression in the reef to watch big female sharks cruise through schools of fish, before a nice gentle drift in the current on your safety stop.
(Ok enough with the stories, I'm itchin' for a dive)
