One of the world's greatest cave diving environment.
Standing inside a cave on a suspended wooden deck, I already know this is going to be one very surreal dive. After the sweltering heat from the jungle above, the water feels icy as I jump in. I follow our guide - sure wouldn't be down here without one - descend into an enormous yawning cave. The view is breathtaking. Saltwater sits over fresh and creates a jelly-like halocline where they meet. I instantly wonder how on Earth I'm going to shoot this? Inside the first dark and gloomy passage I pass fragile rock formations. Shafts of daylight shine through fissures from the real world above, highlighting weird and wonderful rock formations. Towers glitter with minerals while reaching up to capture stalactites. But no more - these underground caverns are now completely flooded, vast cathedral-like chambers and tortuous tunnels forever silenced, except perhaps to me.
(Ok enough with the stories, I'm itchin' for a dive)
