An amazing cave diving site.
An amazing cave dive in tropical conditions, La Sirena features stunning formations that can only be described as breathtaking. Discovered in 1981, this is one of many freshwater caves on the D.R., located on private land between Santa Domingo and Boca Chica. The cave itself consists of two different tunnels with two entry areas: the main entrance offers easy access down a Victorian spiral staircase to the main chamber. One tunnel leads to a large chamber full of stalactites and stalagmites both under and above the water. The second tunnel finally connects to another cave called Cueva Del Indio, a system that offers perfect visibility with interesting haloclines. The visiting diver can expect to see beautiful calcite flowstone, perfectly formed curtains, and crystal formations as well as a variety of shrimps and freshwater fish.
(Ok enough with the stories, I'm itchin' for a dive)
