If you are a diver, what you learned about topics such as decompression sickness and narcosis in your scuba diving classes is unlikely to have been as complete as you thought. Most of it will have been over-simplified and some of it will just have been plain wrong, as diver training agency texts have not kept pace with the science.
"This is a big deal for me. My aim in writing my books was to arm scuba divers with knowledge so they could make the right choices in their diving lives and become better divers. Today, many people coming into scuba diving are Chinese and, up until now, they have lacked objective sources of advice to turn to. They need wait no longer: from now on, they will know how to start diving the right way too."
Simon's books Scuba Fundamental and Scuba Confidential have now been published in simplified Chinese by the China Machine Press in Beijing and are now available in paperback and e-book from all online bookstores in China. Scuba Exceptional may be the fifth book in Simon Pridmore's Scuba series but it is the true follow up to the first book in the series Scuba Confidential. Editorial Reviews Review "Scuba diving is exciting, arresting, stimulating; the list goes on. But of course, without the appropriate training, the proper mindset and applied knowledge, it can be risky too. A great way to manage the risk and damp down the danger is to have a mentor; someone with more experience that you can dive with and who can help keep you on the straight and narrow. In his latest book, Scuba Exceptional, acclaimed author Simon Pridmore is that mentor.
