A dive spot where sharks can be seen.
Film Noir: black and white images from a cinematic retrospective. Hanging over the entrance to Ulong Channel, our reef hooks are wedged under a rock. The current rushes past, wiping away even the sound of our bubbles. It's a dark, silent as the grave, and suddenly chilly. A slight movement disturbs this moody scene. Glancing up, on cue, the star arrives. A grey reef shark, enormous, curious. Menacing? No, pregnanet. She slides forward, so close it feels like a swoop for a kiss. A kiss for the camera. More follow; enter on the left, exit stage right. They leave the scene, disappear, return again. Moving ever closer. The pregnant idol return, checks her scene then is gone. The supporting cast follows. Detaching reef hooks, the current takes us, pushing down the channel, faster and faster, past isolated and lonely stands of coral.
(Ok enough with the stories, I'm itchin' for a dive)
